Britain’s Queen Elizabeth has defied health fears to appear in public for an official engagement in London for the first time since March.
The 96-year-old monarch officially opened London’s newest train line – which is called the Elizabeth Line after her.
It was the first time she has been seen in the capital city since late March, when she attended a memorial service for Prince Philip.
This time she was accompanied by her son Prince Edward as she arrived at Paddington Station.
The Queen never carries cash but she was given a smartcard used to travel on public transit in London.
Where might I go? she asked customer service assistant Kofi Duah as he showed her how commuters can use the new trains.
The appearance came after she went to a horse show in her honor near Windsor Castle on Sunday night.
Although the queen now walks with a cane in public, she appeared healthy and happy at her latest appearances.
In two weeks the UK will celebrate her unprecedented 70 years on the throne with a four-day official Platinum Jubilee holiday.
