On their first solo outing as Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Kate Middleton greeted well-wishers outside Sandringham House in Norfolk, about a hundred miles north of London.
One week after the death of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96, the new Prince and Princess of Wales stepped out Thursday to view tributes left by mourners.
A video shared by Twitter user @knobalob shows the royal couple talking to visitors outside the Norwich Gates of Sandringham House.
Prince William inherited his new title from his father, who is now King Charles III.
A royal procession on Wednesday escorted the queens coffin to Westminster Hall, where the monarch will lie in state for viewing until the funeral on Monday at Westminster Abbey.
Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne in 1952, making her the longest-lived and longest-reigning British monarch. Viewing will be open 24 hours a day until the funeral, allowing hundreds of thousands of mourners to pay their respects.
