Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee on Thursday included the Trooping of the Color, a parade of more than 1,400 soldiers, 400 musicians and 200 horses.
Video shows numerous horses at the Horse Guards Parade, trotting in precise lines behind mounted commanders with swords.
The parade was also disrupted by Animal Rebellion activists, linked to the Extinction Rebellion climate group, who demanded an end to hunting on royal land.
The queen appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace along with working royals who are currently undertaking official public duties on behalf of the Queen, according to a palace statement. Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, were there as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate.
The Platinum Jubilee marks the 70th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II on Feb. 6, 1952.
The Trooping the Color ceremony has marked the official birthday of the sovereign for more than 260 years, according to the royal family.
