King Charles III will be crowned on May 6 at Westminster Abbey in London, according to a statement released by Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.
Charles and his wife Camilla, the Queen Consort, will be crowned at the event, which will be presided over by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, who has presided over the majority of kings’ coronations since 1066, will anoint, bless, and consecrate the King in the ceremony.
After his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away last month, Charles, 73, was crowned the new King of Britain.
Charles was solemnly installed as the next King of the United Kingdom in a ceremony at St. James’ Palace only a few days after she passed away.
