According to Buckingham Palace, more than a thousand Paddington bears and other teddies left by members of the public in honor of the late Queen will be donated to charity.
After her passing in September, the toys were left at royal residences including Buckingham palace and Windsor Castle. The bears will now be donated to the children’s charity Barnardos.
During the summer’s Platinum Jubilee festivities, Queen Elizabeth II and the well-known Peruvian bear made a surprise appearance together in a comedy sketch.
Following her passing, it inspired mourners to leave teddy bears and even marmalade sandwiches amid the floral tributes at royal palaces and parks.
