Crowds Gather Around Buckingham Palace For Queen Elizabeth II’s Coffin Procession To Westminster Hall To Lie In State

Crowds gathered at Buckingham Palace in London on Wednesday to see Queen Elizabeth IIs coffin escorted to Westminster Hall.
A video shared by Twitter user @bradyg_34 shows masses of people gathered outside the palace to witness the historic event.
The Queen died Thursday at Balmoral Castle in Scotland at the age of 96. Following a service at at St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, the queens coffin was transported to London.
A grand royal procession on Wednesday escorted the queens coffin, atop a gun carriage and topped by her crown, to Westminster Hall, where the monarch will lie in state for viewing until the funeral on Monday at Westminster Abbey.
King Charles III, the queens eldest son and heir to the throne of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, walked behind the coffin along with her other children, and Princes William and Harry.
Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne in 1952, making her the longest-lived and longest-reigning British monarch. Viewing will be open 24 hours a day until the funeral, allowing hundreds of thousands of mourners to pay their respects.
