King Charles Celebrates First Birthday As Monarch With New Post

Published

on

King Charles III turned 74 on Monday, and celebrated his first birthday as monarch by taking over the post of Park Ranger of Windsor Great Park.
The role was previously filled by his late father Prince Philip, who was appointed 70 years ago. King George IV, Charles grandfather, has also filled the role.
King Charles was photographed leaning against an ancient oak tree in the park, with the amber light of autumn shining down, to mark the occasion.
Charles, an avid conservationist, will advise the Deputy Ranger and staff on the stewardship of the park, which is one of the countrys oldest estates.
King Charles birthday was celebrated with a 21-gun salute in Green Park, near Buckingham Palace.
