The opening of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee on Thursday included the Trooping of the Color, a parade of more than 1,400 soldiers, 400 musicians and 200 horses, capped off with a Royal Air Force flyby.
Video shows the RAF Typhoon Display Team flying 15 Typhoon fighters in formation to display the number 70. The Platinum Jubilee marks the 70th anniversary of the queen’s accession on Feb. 6, 1952.
The queen appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace along with working royals who are currently undertaking official public duties on behalf of the Queen, according to a palace statement. Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, were there as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate.
The Trooping the Color ceremony has marked the official birthday of the sovereign for more than 260 years, according to the royal family.
