Two minutes of silence were observed across the United Kingdom on Monday to mark the end of the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in London.
A video shared by Twitter user @Kavitha_Nades shows large crowds in London’s Hyde Park observing the two minutes of silence in honor of the late monarch.
A royal procession on Wednesday escorted the queens coffin to Westminster Hall to lie in state. Thousands of mourners stood in a miles-long queue for the viewing. A state funeral was held Monday, with a procession of the queens hearse to Windsor Castle for burial.
Queen Elizabeth died Sept. 8 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland at the age of 96. She ascended to the throne in 1952, making her the longest-lived and longest-reigning British monarch. Her eldest son and heir to the throne of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is now King Charles III.
