Queen Maxima of The Netherlands attended the opening of the Major Bosshardt House in Amsterdam, which has become part of the Salvation Army. The house is named after its former resident, Major Alida Bosshardt, who is a national hero in The Netherlands due to her charity work. From the 1950s until her death in 2007, Major Bosshardt worked for the Salvation Army in Amsterdam, and today her home has been converted to serve the same cause. Queen Maxima wore a beautiful pink dress and coral earrings to the opening. This year marks the 135th anniversary of the Salvation Army in The Netherlands.
