The king was greeted by crowds and a gun salute at Hillsborough Castle, the only royal residence in Northern Ireland. The royal couple is expected to be joined by U.K. Prime Minister Liz Truss for a service at St. Annes Cathedral later Tuesday.
Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. She ascended to the throne in 1952, making her the longest-lived and longest-reigning British monarch.
The queens coffin is due to arrive at Buckingham Palace in London on Tuesday night. The queen will lie in state at the Palace of Westminster from Wednesday until the funeral on Monday. Viewing will be open 24 hours a day.
