In his first Christmas message as monarch, King Charles acknowledged the many people struggling to “pay their bills and keep their families fed and warm.”t
The message comes amid a cost-of-living crisis in the U.K., and a wave of strikes by nurses, rail workers and postal workers.
Christmas is a particularly poignant time for all of us who have lost loved ones,” the King said, paying tribute to his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth.
The King delivered the message from the Chapel of St. George at Windsor Castle, close to where my beloved mother, the late Queen, is laid to rest with my dear father.”
